I am a beginner with no previous experience. Would I be able to take these classes?
Our efficiently designed short courses are made for beginners & free lance self taught makeup artists alike. These classes start with the fundamentals of makeup & will teach you the most important techniques that we know you will use over & over. They are a great way to start from scratch, or diversify your existing skills & gain the confidence in makeup needed.
Is this a State Certified Cosmetology School? No, CMC Makeup School is NOT a cosmetology school and focuses exclusively on makeup education as well as portfolio development & career education. All instructors are professional Makeup Artists with years in the industry, who bring their knowledge & experience to the classroom & curriculum. Students receive a certificate of completion for each class taken, which enhances their portfolio, prepares them for jobs & makes them eligible for professional makeup artist discounts & memberships. However, there is no standard licensing regulation for make-up artists, so students will still need to communicate with their respective state authority for information on business licensing if they wish to offer more than makeup in the Beauty industry.
Can I get a discount if I bring my own makeup? For the sake of unity & flow in completing CMC’s tightly planned curriculums, we do not allow separate makeup kits in the classes.After my deposit is paid, when is the balance due?
To hold your seat you must put down a deposit, which is taken out of the total class price. The balance is then due the first day of class. CMC accepts cash, checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express only.
Do you offer financial aid? We do not offer financial aid. However, If you have a Pay Pal account, there is a good chance you can use 'Bill me Later' for financing. Bill me later is being offered currently to 60% of Pay Pal customers. How long has CMC been in business?
CMC has been in California for 4 years has recently opened a facility in Dallas, Texas as well. The team that makes up CMC’s Instructors are all professional working freelance makeup artists including guest Celebrity Makeup Masters, with many years of experience & knowledge in both makeup application as well as the how to’s of running successful careers. They bring current industry knowledge in the fields of Beauty and Fashion makeup application into the classroom.
When is the next class? Please see our class dates here! Each class consists of in-depth lectures, demonstrations and hands-on makeup applications. Other vital self marketing strategies are taught to ensure success in your chosen field of makeup. Do I get a diploma or a certificate? California Makeup Classes offers Certificate Classes. Upon successful completion, graduates receive a Certificate of completion and Portfolio Photoshoots.
Are there any additional fee’s added to the class? No, aside from the following: If you are a Masters Ring or Ultimate Artist student, you will need to purchase a domain name after the class is done for your website. (Domain names range from 7$ to $12) If you pay for the entire tuition on a credit card, a small cc fee will be added.

How often do you need to have a friend to work on? For Beauty Allure you will need to bring a friend or relative for the 1st DAY from 12 - 6pm, the 2nd DAY from 9am - 6pm. Masters Ring & PRO students will receive an email with the exact hours & days that a model / friend is needed.
What does my model get for coming to class with me? Photos & depending on our promotions that month, she will receive a professional 8x10 portfolio book or a makeup goodie bag.
How many Photoshoots do I get? Each program varies in number of photoshoots. 'The MUA Pro' completes 2 photoshoots - ‘The Masters Ring’ completes 4 photoshoots and The 'Ultimate Artist' completes 5 photoshoots.
How many Photoshoots do I get as a Masters PRO Student? By the end of ‘The Masters Ring PRO’ you will have done a minimum of 4 professional photoshoots.

What kind of money can I earn in Makeup? Depending on which industry you select there are industry averages. The lowest income averages between $12 -$20 per hour. Most Television & Video work is based on "day rates", which averages between $250 -$500 per day. Film work averages between $400 - $850 per day. The Print & Fashion industry is known to pay best, clients have different budgets but a top artist can make as much as $3,500 a day or more.
How soon can I start? Because we try to keep our class sizes small ( 6 students per class ), we encourage students to enroll in advance to ensure their seat. We can not hold a seat without a deposit, so we do suggest you register early.
